4 Perks of Traveling to Cancun and Riviera Maya in Low Season!

Orlando Rivas

When planning a trip to Cancun and the Riviera Maya, you probably wonder when is best to travel. During the summer? Or maybe in winter to get away from the cold. Well, all year round is great to visit Cancun, but one of the best times to do so is during low season! Don’t you believe me? Here are a few reasons that might change your mind.
*Low seasons go from February to May & September to November.

The price difference is quite notorious.

The prices for the hotels go down and there are bargains everywhere. I can bet you’ll find a deal for that all-inclusive resort you’ve always wanted to visit and for that tour you’ve been looking to do for so long. You can also visit one of the museums in the area and go shopping at any of the malls in Cancun, where you can find great deals for souvenirs and clothes.

Fewer crowds = more fun

Another great thing about traveling to Cancun during low season is that you’ll find way fewer people everywhere, meaning you get to enjoy more of the beautiful paradises that the Mayan land offers to you. Many times you can find a cenote just for yourself or visit a desert Mayan Ruins site allowing you to take great photos without tumults of people in the background. Enjoy the beautiful landscapes; the paradise is all for you!

Weather is fantastic!

The low season of September, October and November are very special since the temperature is delightful. Although it can rain a bit, it usually is not a problem because most of the water parks and other attractions remain open and you can enjoy them without trouble. Besides, the rain doesn’t last long and after a small shower, you will surely see a beautiful rainbow. Basically, rain in Cancun means your afternoon is about to get more romantic.

Mexican Fiesta!

This time of the year is particularly special because of its numerous celebrations. Fiesta starts with the Mexican Independence Day, in which people decorate their businesses, houses and pretty much all town with the colorful green, white and red that represent the Mexican flag. You will feel welcomed and excited to give the “Cry of Independence” as Mexicans do. Do you like Mariachi music? Tequila? Well, now is the perfect time to enjoy traditional Mexican music, dances and food in all sorts of parties; from traditional celebrations in restaurants and public parks to special parties in the bars and nightclubs all over the Riviera Maya.
